For example, we want to offer a 3-day trial plan for $1 only, that auto expires and with no further billing to customers, how do I set this up in CG?

    Hi Jin --

There isn't a way to automatically cancel a plan natively in CG.

Have you considered using the Bill Reminder emails to notify customers of an upcoming renewal to give them a chance to opt-out instead? You could create a free trial on your paid plan and use the Bill Reminder email to warn them that their trial is coming to an end and their account will be charged.

This has been an effective work-around for past customers looking for a similar functionality.

Jin -- There're several options here. Perhaps we can help further if you explain in more detail what you're wanting to accomplish. Specifically, what is the intention at the end of the 3 days? The customer pays $1 on signup, which gains them access to your service for 3 days. Then what?

    Hi Marc,

    Thanks for the reply.

Once the customer signs up to the trial, they can upgrade to a monthly plan, or simply let the trial expire and they will not be billed again.

This is mainly to make the 3-day trial worry free, so that they can sign up and try out our service. And the $1 onetime payment is aimed to filter out pure tyre kickers.

    Best,

    Jin

Thanks Jin -- You could signup these trial customers on a non-recurring plan that's config'ed to bill the $1. Then manage the 3 day limit within your app with a simple date check in your authorization routine. This way you can curate the conversion process the way you want (even extend the trial as a bonus for active users).

    Hi Marc,

    Thanks.

I assume this can only be done manually one by one?

    Hi Jin --

It can be done manually, but you can also use the API to create a script if you'd like to take a more hands off approach. Here's some documentation that you can use to help with that.
